What Happens Next:
1. HUD reviews your complaint (usually within 10 days)
2. HUD notifies the respondent
3. HUD investigates (interviews, documents, site visits)
4. HUD attempts conciliation (settlement)
5. If no settlement: HUD may prosecute or issue right-to-sue letter
Timeline: HUD must complete investigation within 100 days. You can file a lawsuit in federal court at any time.
